Don your chef’s whites – pop-up Dining Club from Ikea

We all have busy lives and food seems to have become a hurried inconvenience instead of a considered, enjoyable part of the day where you can reconnect with your nearest and dearest.

It’s this thought that has inspired Ikea to design a unique restaurant space where you can cook for family and friends. Food experts will help you choose the menu, which you will prepare yourself (plus any friends you can rope in) under the guidance of your very own sous chef. Then test out your three-course creation on your guinea pigs, I mean guests.

It will mean that diners get to “mimic an actual dinner party, but one where diners can host more guests than usual,” Ikea says.

The price for this unique experience? Nothing, it’s FREE!!
However, there are only 38 sessions available so grab your chance to cook and dine together and apply now.

The Dining Club will open its doors in Shoreditch, East London, from Saturday 10th September to Sunday 25th September. Featuring a DIY restaurant, an IKEA cafe serving Swedish delicacies, inspiring workshops, a virtual reality kitchen and a unique shop so you can take home a piece of the experience.

Some of the workshops available include:

  • Love Food Hate Waste
  • Creative Cooking with Kids
  • The Future of Food
  • Clean Eating
  • Go Green Without the Garden
